"The Nun" is een diep symbolisch werk van Micky Hoogendijk, dat thema's van rouw, verdriet en spirituele introspectie weerspiegelt. Geïnspireerd door het archetype van de Maagd Maria en beïnvloed door de principes van Carl Jung, toont deze foto een goddelijke bruid, gehuld in een witte sluier met een subtiel aureool, wat religieuze en melancholische ondertonen oproept. Hoogendijk's verbinding met de Jungiaanse psychologie, geleerd tijdens haar studies aan de Eric Morris Actors Workshop, stelde haar in staat om toegang te krijgen tot haar onderbewustzijn, waar ze de archetypes vond die haar creativiteit aanstuurden. "The Nun" vertegenwoordigt de stilte en eenzaamheid die nodig zijn voor persoonlijke genezing, waarbij Hoogendijk's droomwereld wordt samengevoegd met haar geleefde ervaringen om ruimte te creëren voor diepgaande emotionele expressie.
